FATTY AMINE PRODUCTS

The cationic surfactants manufactured by CorsiTech are based on derivatives from naturally occurring fats and oils, such as, vegetable and animal fats and oils. Examples of these fats and oils are coconut oil, soyabean oil, beef tallow and tall oil. When the fats and oils are converted (or split) to their acid form, they are referred to as fatty acids. These fatty acids, when reacted with nitrogen containing compounds, such as, ammonia and hydrogen, under temperature and pressure, yield compounds known as amines. Amine based compounds are cationic, i.e., positively charged compounds. These “fatty amines” are the basis of CorsiTech’s product line.

Under the general category of fatty amines, there are many subcategories of compounds, such as:

  • Primary Amines
  • Diamines & Polyamines
  • Ether Amines
  • Oxyalkylated Amines
  • Quaternary Ammonium Compounds
  • Amine Salts
  • Imidazolines & Amido Amines
